What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This policy describes how IrradianceLab (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with irradiancelab.com (the “site”). By using the site you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
Information we collect
Information you give us. If you submit a review or contact us, we may receive your name, email address, rating, the text you write, any photos you upload, and anything else you choose to include.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the site and its hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring page and the date and time of a visit. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand how it performs.
We do not knowingly ask for health information. Please do not include medical details about yourself or anyone else in a review or message.
How we use it
We may use personal information to:
- operate, maintain, secure and improve the site;
- review, moderate and publish reader reviews;
- respond to messages and requests;
- detect, prevent and address spam, abuse, fraud or technical problems;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on your consent, our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site, or the need to meet a legal obligation, as applicable.
What is published
If a review is published, the name you provided, your rating, your text and any photos may be visible to the public. Your email address is not published. We may decline, edit for length or clarity, or remove any review at our discretion.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share it with service providers that host, secure or support the site on our behalf, only as needed for them to do so; when required by law or to protect rights, safety or property; or as part of a transfer of the site to a successor.
Cookies and tracking
The site does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Our hosting and security providers may set strictly necessary cookies or use similar technologies to protect the site. If this changes, we will update this policy.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it. We take reasonable measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. To make a request, email hello@irradiancelab.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided it to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
